Nurture Training and Development is in a position to access funding delivered by the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA). We can enrol, plan, conduct, and certificate your workforce by utilising the training and development policy from the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) that supports Adult Social Care Training and Development.

Adult Social Care Training and Development Fund

This is a reimbursement that can be claimed by employers who wish to up-skill their adult social care workforce from the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC). The funds are disseminated by NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA). Health and social care institutions can access the funds when they employ a care workforce within England. The training and development reimbursement has been implemented from a policy paper called “Next steps to put People at the Heart of Care”.

The policy aim as a foreword by Department of Health and Social Care DHSC (2021): “I want everyone who needs care in England to have outstanding, quality care that empowers them to lead fulfilling lives and have the greatest possible independence. I want care to be personalised to meet individual needs and give people choice and control. I want joined-up services so that people’s experience of health and social care is seamless. These are the things that carers and people who draw on care and support have told me they want. Our reforms are about achieving those aims.”

There are many benefits to training your workforce. Ultimately, training and development enhance the knowledge and competencies of staff, which will have a direct positive impact on performance and the quality of care provided. The Care Quality Commission monitors the sector and uses the Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) to plan for funding, which supports the amount of vital funding needed within the sector each year.

We can also support the registration process with the Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS); this service helps care providers run their business and manage their staff training needs. It is a requirement to access funding to be registered.

Your organisation must be registered with the Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) to access funding from the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC). Account data inputted into the online portal by organisations must accurately reflect the services provided by Nurture Training and Development, as well as accurate workforce numbers when utilising funds available from the DHSC.

Your organisation is responsible for registering adult social care services with ASC-WDS for each tendering year, ensuring that all details are up to date for funding claims. Additionally, your organisation must share data about each enrolment using a Learner Data Capture Form and update ASC-WDS with the required information.

You will be provided with an identification number, known as the ASC-WDS ID, which is unique to your organisation and issued by the DHSC. The DHSC fund can only be utilised by organisations that provide adult social care services and directly employ care staff within England.

Finally, your organisation agrees to share data with Nurture Training and Development in line with GDPR and stakeholder agreements.

Nurture Training and Development has made a commitment with the Department for Education to access the Learning Records Service LRS – registered under the Organisation Reference Code [158182] and UKPRN [10084767].

Furthermore, Nurture Training and Development has agreed with the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) to access and use data only where permitted.
